Swansea City manager Garry Monk says he hopes to bring in a few more players after giving his thoughts on last night’s 2-0 friendly win at Exeter City.

Gomis opened the scoring with his first ever goal for the club, before Bony played through Sheehan to double the lead in the second half.

New signing Jefferson Montero looked very bright and was involved in a lot of Swansea’s early chances, showing his pace and skill down the left flank.

Our current poll asks you, the fans what position does Garry Monk need to strengthen the most, and so far, a full back and a defensive midfielder are needed the most according to the Vital Swansea readers.

A full back is top priority with a majority 40% of the votes, followed by a defensive midfielder – 22%.

Nobody has voted yet that we don’t need any more signings – while in a previous poll – 92% voted that we needed 3 or more signings – but that was before we signed Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jefferson Montero in the space of 24 hours.

Garry Monk spoke about new signings Montero and Gomis, whilst adding that he hopes to add to the six signings he’s already made this Summer – Fabianski, Kingsley, Emnes, Gomis, Sigurdsson and Montero.

“It`s always nice when a striker – particularly a new player – gets a goal in pre-season as they will try and take that into the season, so I`m pleased for Bafe,”

“Jefferson also showed glimpses of what he can bring to the table. He has settled in very well.

“We are going to be working very closely with him to try and improve him as a player along with the others.”

“I hope to bring in a few more players. I`ll be working closely with the chairman and the board to see what we can do.”
