Danish legend Michael Laudrup will celebrate his 48th birthday today with a new job having taken over Brendan Rodgers as Swansea City’s new manager.

He will sign a two-year contract with his new club, with the move officially confirmed at 12pm today.

As Vital Swansea reported early this week, the Danish legend had talks with the club but many factors had to be discussed before both parties could progress and discuss terms.

Chairman Huw Jenkins is expected to announce his appointment at a press conference some time today.

He’s obviously happy with the ambition and the money he’ll have to work with next season as the Swans look to build on an excellent opening year in the Premier League, finishing 11th under now Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

After rumours suggested he was set to join the club, further rumours, mainly on twitter then said that talks had fallen through and the move wouldn’t happen, but the club will end their search for a new boss today.
