Swansea City are also targeting a loan move for West Brom striker Simon Cox, according to the Express & Star.

Brendan Rodgers loaned out Skefki Kuqi to Derby County this week to make funds available to sign West Ham United forward Frank Nouble, and the Swans boss is also looking to make further signings in the emergency loan window.

Rodgers worked with Cox during his time at Reading and he is interested in signing him on loan, but West Bromwich Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo is apparently reluctant to loan out any players because he has a number of players on the injury list.

Reading are also monitoring the status of Cox while Derby County have also been linked with a move for the 23 year-old.

A move for Cox is looking unlikely for now but it could be a possibility in the near future when Di Matteo has fewer injury concerns.
