According to reports in Holland, Swansea City have reached an agreement with N.E.C to sign midfielder John Goossens.

The 23 year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and the Eredivisie are looking to sell the player to get a fee for him, instead of losing him for nothing next Summer.

Of course, Swansea City will have to agree personal terms with Goossens but it’s believed that they have permissions to enter talks with the midfielder regarding a potential move.

NEC’s technical chief Carlos Aalbers said:

‘It’s a consideration between business and football.

‘As technical manager it’s a shame but if we sell him now we will receive a transfer fee. At the end of the season we won’t.

‘We have tried to extend the deal with John, but he was not interested, so this is the best solution for the club.

‘Of course it’s hard, as we will miss a fantastic player.’
