Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers said he was delighted to complete the signing of Rory Donnelly.

He managed to fend off competition from Liverpool and Everton to sign the young striker for an undisclosed fee.

The 19 year-old, who joins from Cliftonville, will undergo a medical and sign a three-and-a-half year contract to complete the move when the transfer window opens on January 1st.

Having worked with the youngsters at Chelsea when he was Youth Team Manager, Brendan Rodgers is always keen to develop young players and bring them through into the first team, he said:

‘We are delighted to be able to attract one of Northern Ireland’s biggest talents,”

‘I am really looking forward to helping Rory fulfil his potential and, hopefully, over the next few years ensure that Swansea City has another exciting young player blossoming at the club.”
