The Welsh club head into the game sixth in the table after picking up eight points from a possible 12 this season.
Graham Potter’s side started the campaign with victories over Sheffield United and Preston North End, before picking up draws against Birmingham City and Leeds United.
City led twice against Leeds on Tuesday, but Marcelo Bielsa’s impressive team battled back on both occasions.
Three goals conceded in four games is a statistic that Potter will be eager to build on as he bids to take Swansea back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Bristol City kicked-off their season with draws against Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers, before slipping to a home defeat against Middlesbrough.
However, they bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers in midweek to move up to 13th in the standings.
With the Swans looking good defensively and City not the most potent team up front, Saturday’s game could be a tense affair.
The last nine meetings between these two sides have yielded just six goals, with Swansea winning three and drawing four of those matches.
There have been four goalless draws during that run and it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise to see another scoreless encounter this weekend.
Oli McBurnie’s performance against Leeds would suggest he’s the man most likely to break the deadline this weekend.
The striker finished off a sweeping counter-attack to open the scoring for the Swans on Tuesday, before putting his side back in front with a superb header after hanging in the air to score.
The Scot produced a superb display aside from his goals, to show why Swansea were so keen to retain his services this summer.
McBurnie was reportedly the subject of a £4 million bid from Rangers during the transfer window, but in this sort of form that size of fee would have been daylight robbery had the club decided to sell.
Andreas Weimann will be one to watch for the visitors. He has scored four goals in four Championship appearances following his summer move from Derby County.
A victory on Saturday would set Swansea up nicely for Tuesday’s EFL Cup clash with Crystal Palace, although Potter may decide to rotate his side for that one with a trip to Millwall on the horizon the following weekend.
Four points from the next two league games would represent a decent return under Potter and set the club up nicely for the rest of the campaign.
