Reports in Spain are suggesting that Swansea City have a deal agreed with Sevilla to sign striker Fernando Llorente.
We’re all desperately hoping that the Swans finally sign a couple of strikers and we’re hoping that we can rely on these reports here
The report suggests that the 31 year-old will join the Swans on a three-year deal. It’s unknown as yet what sort of fee is involved.
First team coach Alan Curtis told BBC Radio Wales Sport that Llorente is one of the names on a long list of striker targets – he also admitted that it was time that they signed a frontman:
“I think he’s one of the players who has been mentioned,”
“He’s on a list where you could name at least half a dozen strikers. With two weeks to go until the start of the season, it’s probably time we brought a big signing in.”
The Spaniard joined Sevilla last year from Juventus on a free transfer, scoring 4 goals during 2015/16, so he doesn’t arrive with a prolific goalscoring record that we’re all hoping for.
Llorente would add some strength and height up front – standing at 6ft 4.
We’ll have to keep an eye on this one, because yesterday there were reports that Real Sociedad had also agreed a move for the striker – so who knows which report (if any) is accurate?
