Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers will step up his search for a striker following the news that Gorka Pintado will be sidelined for a few months with a shoulder injury.

That means he has only two fit strikers available – Stephen Dobbie and Shefki Kuqi.

Rodgers has been looking to strengthen his attacking options ever since he joined the club, but he will now look to step up his search to bring in a new forward before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Rodgers said:

‘The priority is to get another striker in,’

‘Gorka is now injured with his shoulder for a few months so we really need that support.’

While he looks for a new striker, new signing Scott Sinclair is also an option to play up front. The former Chelsea youngster is mainly a winger, but the 21 year-old is capable of playing in a more attacking role. He could make his debut on Saturday as the Swans host Preston North End at the Liberty Stadium.
