Swansea City have signed young striker Stefan Morrison from West Bromwich Albion on a free transfer.

Morrison has been training with the squad over the last few weeks and did spend some time on trial last season with the club. The Aldridge born striker featured in last nights 6-0 win over Östersunds FK yesterday evening. Described as a fast and strong centre forward Morrison is firmly one for the future as Swansea Manager Roberto Martinez looks to invest in young players to make sure of long term success at the club. Impressed by Morrison’s attitude the Spaniard snapped the 18 year old.

Martinez Told The SWEP:

“We always try to identify young players with potential and Stefan has impressed us. He has been training with us since we came back and has been very impressive, while he also played three trial games for us last season. He needs to develop – we need to give him the right direction and we will do that. But he has a got a great attitude and he has a chance of becoming a very good footballer.Stefan will work hard with Alan and our other youngsters and we will see how he goes.”

Roberto Martinez has thanked the people of Östersunds for their hospitality, where they will stay until Sunday before flying back to South Wales.
