Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has ruled out returns for Wigan Athletic pair Jordi Gomez and Jason Scotland.
Both players left the club at the end of the 2008/09 season and followed Roberto Martinez to the DW Stadium.
Speculation has circulated recently about possible returns for the pair, as they are struggling for regular football in the Premiership, but Jenkins says it won’t happen.
‘Getting Jordi Gomez back is something that’s never been discussed.
‘People talk about him and Jason Scotland a lot, but the fact is that both players left our club.
‘They decided they wanted to further their careers elsewhere and that’s the end of it really as far as we are concerned.’
Fans have discussed lately the possibility of Gomez and Scotland returning to help us with our lack of goals. They scored the majority of our goals in 2008/09 and we’ve yet to replace them.
|“To be blunt, I am very glad these are not going to be considered for a return to Swansea. Both in my opinion overstepped the line when they ‘appealed’ to our other players to forget Swansea and join Wigwam instead.”|
