Swansea City have offered contracts to Andrea Orlandi, Jazz Richards, Shaun MacDonald and Leon Britton.

Their current deals expire in June and therefore we could risk losing them next month, but hopefully we can persuade them all to sign new deals this week.

Plenty of speculation is circulating that Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is considering a move for Britton, while Jazz Richards was linked with a move to SPL sides Celtic and Rangers.

Shaun MacDonald spent this season on loan at Yeovil Town and he could choose to join the League One club permanently, as he enjoyed his time at Huish Park – a place where he is guaranteed first team football unlike at the Liberty Stadium.

Chairman Huw Jenkins says they are looking to settle the squad as soon as possible.

Paulo Sousa has said he wants a squad of 24 or 25 players, but he’ll need to release another 10 to get it down to that number – and he’s also need to make a new signings to strengthen ahead of next season.

‘We have offered Andrea a contract and we are waiting for a response,’

‘Jazz has already received a contract offer, which is almost agreed, while Shaun will have an offer on the table soon when we speak to his agent this week. We are also hoping to meet with Fede and Albert’s agents this week.

‘Despite looking at trimming the squad, we realise that getting our squad settled is very important.

‘While we have had to look at reducing the playing staff, it was vital that we secured the futures of individuals who we feel will play a big part in our plans next season.’
