Ian Craney’s time at Swansea City could be coming to an end should Accrington Stanley’s bid for the midfielder be accepted by the South Wales club.

Craney has been subject to interest from league two clubs over the last few months with Peterborough United launching a surprise bid for the midfielder.

Posh manager Darren Ferguson had wanted to add the former Altringham player to his Squad but the contract talks broke down over personal terms with the player.

John Coleman had stated his intent on re signing the midfeilder little over a month ago and has launched a bid to land the player.

Craney has proved a key player in the clubs season but his loan spell nearly came to a premature end when he was strechered off at Bradford City after tearing his hamstring.

With 2 goals in seven first team appearances Craney has has been a hit at The Fraser Eagle Stadium.

The Lanceshire club are in negoitiations with Swansea to secre a deal for Craney.

Coleman was quoted as saying in:
The Evening Post

‘We’re trying to bring Ian here and we’re in negotiations with Swansea at the moment.’

We’re trying to put a package together that will be acceptable to both Swansea and Ian.’

Should Accrington’s bid for Craney be successful the deal for the midfielder will be completed in the January transfer window which is due to open on the 1st January.
