Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa shares his thoughts ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Riverside Stadium to take on Gordon Strachan’s Middlesbrough side.

Sousa watched his side lose 3-0 to Boro at the Liberty Stadium earlier on in the season when Gareth Southgate was still in charge and he’ll be hoping to respond with a win to boost our play-off chances.

This match was supposed to be played a fortnight ago but it was postponed due to the cold weather, and Sousa admits he’d rather we had played them then:

‘It is a little unlucky for us that we didn’t play them two weeks ago,’

‘They had four big injuries and one player missing through suspension.

‘Now they will probably have all those players back, and they have some new signings.

‘But this is life, and we need to be prepared to deal with these things.

‘Only the strong teams can cope with this kind of situation, and I have confidence that my players can cope.

‘They always have the potential to be promoted, but it’s not easy for him (Strachan) at the moment and I hope we can put him and his club in more difficulties.’
