Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa sounded relieved to see the end of March.

It’s been the toughest month of the season so far for the Swans, as they played 7 games and won just one of them – that slump in form has seen us drop down to 5th as we fall closer to the chasing pack.

Sousa has said a combination of injuries and tiredness hasn’t helped during the busy period and he’s now hoping that the squad can be fresh for Saturday’s tough game at arch rivals Cardiff City.

‘March has been difficult for us with injuries and players being very tired, especially mentally,’

‘I’m happy that this month has gone,’

‘Hopefully after two or three days off, the players can come back with their minds completely fresh with fresh ideas,’

‘We have a full week to train and recover our minds and bodies to have fresh ideas and to prepare well for the game.’

‘We come into a nice, enthusiastic month and I’m very positive and confident that we are ready for that.’

Saturday’s return of midfield duo Andrea Orlandi and Joe Allen with also help us improve our form as both players have been sidelined during the busy March schedule.

Sousa added:

‘They are important players for us and when we have all the squad ready and fresh we can be ourselves,’
