Paulo Sousa says Ferrie Bodde has a ‘big chance to start’ in tomorrow’s game at home to Peterborough United.

There has been speculation in the media this week suggesting that the Dutchman will make a surprised return to midfield as we’ll be without injured duo Joe Allen and Andrea Orlandi.

Bodde has played just 60 minutes in a Reserves match since his last League game in September – 5 months ago – but he has been in full training for the past few weeks.

The 27 year-old spent 10 months on the sidelines after picking up a knee ligament injury in November 2008. He then picked up another injury in his first League game back in September 2009, so there’s the risk that he could suffer a recurrence of his troublesome injury.

Sousa said:

‘Ferrie has a big chance to start,’

‘He is in better shape now than he was when he tried to come back at the start of the season.

‘I have seen in him in training and I think he can have some opportunities between now and the end of the season.

‘We are a bit short of players in the centre this weekend, so he could even start against Peterborough.’
