The Sun are today reporting that Paulo Sousa has agreed terms to replace Nigel Pearson at Leicester City.

If the tabloid newspaper’s sources are correct, the news comes as a big blow to the Swans as they’ll experience yet another manager setback.

Sousa took charge last Summer following Roberto Martinez’s move to Wigan Athletic, and despite a complete overhaul to the management team, the 39 year-old guided the club to a 7th place finish in the Championship despite working with a limited budget.

It would mean another unsettling Summer for the club if we were to lose our manager. Not every Swansea City fan is a fan of our Portuguese boss but he’s maintained the same standards on the pitch and kept us fighting for a Championship play-off place. This certainly wouldn’t be guaranteed with his replacement – if we need one.

Nigel Pearson left the Walkers Stadium this week to take the vacant job at Hull City, and although Sousa started at just 20/1 with the bookmakers, he quickly became the favourite with odds now shortened to just 1/4.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins said yesterday that he’s received no contact from Leicester, but the Western Mail reported today that the Foxes are ready to make an official approach to sign their top target.

We’d like to hear your views on Paulo Sousa and his possible move to one of our Championship rivals. Are you a fan of his? Would he be a big loss if he was to leave or would you like to see someone else take over? HAVE YOUR SAY on the Message Forum here
