Good news for Swansea City fans as Gylfi Sigurdsson says that he’s ‘not trying to leave’ as speculation grows about his future.

Rumours say that Everton are front-runners to sign him this Summer, with a bid of around £25-27m being mentioned – which has baffled many of us considering that the Toffees have put a £50m asking price on fellow attacking midfielder Ross Barkley – whose key stats don’t stack up with Gylfi’s.

However, Sigurdsson has insisted again this year that he is happy at Swansea City, and also pointed out that he still has another three years on his contract.

‘I signed a new contract in the summer and I’ve got three years left,’

‘So it’s down to the club if they want to sell me. But I was very happy when I was on loan here and then again in the last three years.

‘I’m not trying to leave, I’m not desperate to go or anything. It (speculation) doesn’t bother me what people are talking about.

‘It’s been easy in the last couple of months because we’ve been in a very serious position in the league, so it’s been easy to concentrate on that.

‘I think it’ll continue to be like that because whatever happens, happens.’

Sigurdsson won the players’ player of the year, supporters’ player of the year and away player of the year as he cleaned up once again at the end-of-season awards dinner.

Manager Paul Clement has recently revealed that he will have Summer talks with his two star players – Sigurdsson and Llorente in a bid to keep hold of them for next season.
