Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood felt that his side didn’t deserve to lose the game this afternoon as they threw away a 1-goal lead at home against Swansea City.

Jordan Ayew put the home team in front as Villa made a stronger start to the second half. His brother, Ayew had a great chance saved at the other end before Villa quickly countered to open the scoring.

Sigurdsson stepped up to curl in a superb equaliser from a free kick before Ayew netted a late winner as the momentum shifted into Swansea’s favour.

Sherwood, who stupidly declared that his side would win today – read Vital Villa here, is left wondering if he’ll still be in a job this evening as his side are lacking waiting for a home win this season.

He told BBC his thoughts after yet another defeat:

‘Am I going to be in the job next week? I’m not the person to ask. I feel like the club is in a hole.

‘I am disappointed with the result, we didn’t deserve to lose the game. We can’t carry anyone because we’re getting done. At the moment we are short. If people don’t give everything we’ll come up short.

‘There’s no shortage in desire but the quality is not quite there. We’re not world beaters. Our league position suggests we’re not and today wasn’t our day.’
