Jonjo Shelvey was the only player to come out of Monday night’s home defeat against Stoke City with any sort of praise following an abysmal performance, as Garry Monk’s side lost their unbeaten start at home in the Premier League.

Arguably, the team’s best attacking threat trio – Montero, Ayew and Gomis barely got a vote as the Swans lacked any attacking creativity as they struggled to break down a resilient and well organised Stoke City side, that extended their winning run to 3.

Substitute Ki, who replaced Modou Barrow in the second half came second with 23% of the vote. Despite conceding the early that gave Stoke the win, captain Ashley Williams came in joint third along with Angel Rangel (10%).

In our new poll, we’d like to know whether or not you think that Garry Monk needs a more experienced coach alongside him. It’s not going to happen, but we’d still be interested to see how many of our readers are confident that Monk can turn things around.

It’s the sign of a good manager, one that can recover from a poor run of form and get the team playing well again. He managed it last season, as the team ended a poor run with a 1-0 victory away at Southampton. 3 consecutive wins followed later on to secure their 8th place finish.

Man of the Match Leaderboard:

Ashley Williams – 3
Jefferson Montero – 2
Jack Cork – 2
Neil Taylor – 1
Jonjo Shelvey – 1
