Albert Serran’s red card in the 0-0 draw at home to Crystal Palace has been rescinded and he will not serve a 3-match ban.

The Spanish defender was given his marching orders just 16 minutes into the game against Neil Warnock’s side for simply making a diagonal run across Moses to block him from a goalscoring opportunity. A fair challenge which defenders do in every match in the country, yet referee Anthony Taylor gave a straight red.

Paulo Sousa said the decision was ridiculous and rejected to shake the official’s hand at the end of the game for not ‘showing respect’.
