Southampton boss Mark Wotte says Nathan Dyer wants to stay at Swansea City to play Championship football.

That’s been rather obvious really since he joined, as on a number of occasions the winger has told the press how much he’s been enjoying his time at the Liberty Stadium.

However, Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has recently revealed that talks with Southampton about a permanent move for Dyer have stalled as they can’t agree over a fee.

Southampton value Dyer at around £750,000 it’s believed but so far the Swans have only offered £200,000.

Wotte told their official site:

‘I’ve spoken to players like Marek Saganowski, Grzegorz Rasiak and Nathan Dyer about what they should expect in pre-season,’

‘Nathan has said that he hopes to stay at Swansea because he wants to play Championship football, but we will only allow that if Swansea make the right offer from him, otherwise he is due back with us.
