Speculation has emerged recently suggesting that Sheffield United are demanding Alan Tate in place of Gary Speed.

Apparently, Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell is a big admirer of the former Manchester United trainee, and they’re demanding the defender in a swap for Speed as the Swans continue their bid to appoint him as their new manager.

Plenty of speculation and rumours have circulated over the past few weeks, about Sousa leaving, and then who will his replacement be. In fact, so much speculation means you don’t know what to believe, and this could be another case of yet another false rumour.

Alan Tate for the Swans, Gary Speed for the Blades, both key assets to their clubs and neither will be willing to allow them to leave. At present, Huw Jenkins is finding it difficult to start talks with Speed, but how come other clubs find it so easy to take our managers off us? Wigan Athletic did it with Roberto Martinez last year, and Leicester City took Paulo Sousa last week with little effort.
