Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has praised Swansea City’s performance in yesterday’s 1-0 defeat at the Liberty Stadium.

Angel Rangel’s mistake early in the first half gave the title-holders an easy chance to score the vital winning goal in the game, as Scott Sinclair missed a great chance to score an equaliser shortly afterwards.

After a disappointing first half display, the Swans looked more settled after the break as they were able to link their passes together following a rather rushed and nervy start.

Rooney said:

“We were delighted with the three points but Swansea played really well,”

“They passed it well and put us under a bit of pressure in the second-half but we managed to cope with them.

“All credit to them they`ve come into the Premier League, they`re playing some lovely football so you`ve got to hold your hands up to them.”
