Brendan Rodgers believes Scott Sinclair has the quality to earn himself an international place in Stuart Pearce’s England under-21 squad.

Sinclair has played at under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-20 level for his country but has yet to earn a call-up to the under-21s, and Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers believes Sinclair is the best young winger in the country. His international goalscoring record is equally as impressive as his Swansea City one so far, netting 8 goals in 15 England games.

Sinclair has performed brilliantly in every game so far since his big move from Chelsea and has scored two goals in the space of just 5 days.

Rodgers told Wales Online:

“Scott`s a Premier League talent,”

“I was talking to Stuart Pearce [England Under-21 manager] and he`s back on the radar.

“I told Stuart if he can tell me a better player in that position then I`ve yet to see him.

“In the last couple of seasons he hasn`t played, but he knows the confidence I`ve got in him and you saw that in his performance.

“As soon as he gets the ball, the crowd gets up and he always has the capability to beat people.

“I would expect Stuart to be at one of our games very soon watching Scott.”
