Brendan Rodgers was left stunned after watching his side’s worst performance of the season which saw them lose their first home game of the season.

The Swans were looking to build on Sunday’s impressive win away at Cardiff City, but we looked jaded following that game as we struggled to deal with a strong Bristol City side.

After a poor performance and disappointment to end our unbeaten start at home, Rodgers and his players will be looking forward to putting things right again on Sunday when we host Middlesbrough.

‘We are all stunned at the moment,”

‘We don’t like losing, especially at home. We don’t like the taste.

‘We didn’t start well and it wasn’t our evening. We improved a lot in the second-half, but it was certainly wasn’t our night.

‘But I can’t criticise my players too much as they’ve been fantastic since I’ve come here. Apart from Nottingham Forest away we haven’t had many off days like that.

‘It was always going to be difficult after Sunday’s game, but full credit to Bristol they scored early and defended well after that.

‘I said to the players after the game that they’ve got to learn the lesson because we can’t afford to have other off days. I hope they’ve got it out of their system because we’ve always got to be 100 per cent.

‘But they are an honest bunch. They are really hurting in the dressing room because they didn’t produce their normal level of performance.

‘We’ve bounced back before though. We’ve got to put it to bed and show the right reaction against Middlesbrough on Sunday.”
