Brendan Rodgers is set to discuss Shefki Kuqi’s future with the player soon following his return from a 3-month loan spell at Derby County.

The Swansea City manager has hinted in the past and in the present really that the 34 year-old’s days are numbered at the club – mostly because of his age plus the fact that he won’t be playing regular football – something I’m sure he can get at a Lower league club.

Brendan Rodgers said:

I will sit down with Shefki and have a chat about where he is at,’

‘He has done reasonably well at Derby, but probably things haven’t changed in relation to where we are.

‘He is a good guy and at his age he will probably want to play regular football.

‘His contract is up at the end of the season and I’m sure he’ll want to secure something else.

‘But first I will have a chat with him and then we’ll see where we are.’

Kuqi said he was pleased to be back at Swansea and is aiming to help the team in their promotion push, but it looks like he’ll be below both Stephen Dobbie and Craig Beattie in the pecking order.
