Brendan Rodgers sees Dutch trialist Kemy Agustien as the player to replace Leon Britton in midfield next season.

The Swansea City boss was a big admirer of Britton, who joined Sheffield United this summer after his contract at the Liberty Stadium expired, and Rodgers is now looking for his replacement.

Despite picking up a medial ligament injury during the 1-0 defeat against Ado Den Haag last Saturday, Rodgers is hoping to sign Agustien permanently after a successful trial.

‘Kemy [Agustien] is one we’re looking to get in.

I think anyone who was in Holland can see that he’s got the attributes to be a very good player – certainly in the Championship if not higher.’

The chairman is looking to do the deal with him and his agent to bring him in.

‘He’s had news on his knee which is good, it was medial ligament which isn’t so good but it’s not as long as we first thought.

‘We hope we can tie that up, get him in and then he’ll be a very good addition for us.
