Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is still being strongly linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.

It’s another typical Summer pre-season for the Swans, with yet more speculation about our manager’s future.

Despite Brendan Rodgers rejecting talks with Liverpool about their vacant manager’s job, the media and bookies still suggest that he’s one of the big favourites to take over at Anfield.

Swansea City fans face an anxious wait this week as they wait for an outcome, and confirmation as to who will actually take over at Liverpool FC.

The media believe that the Liverpool owners will turn to Brendan Rodgers again in a second attempt to appoint the young Irishman. Their American owners are expecting to ask Swansea City on Wednesday for permission to speak with the Irishman.

The 39 year-old is also being linked with a move to Italian side Lazio. He’s apparently joined Gianfranco Zola, Carlos Dunga and Rafa Benitez in the names linked with the job, taking over Edy Reja following his departure. Although this is a nothing story compared to the national attention of the Rodgers to Liverpool link.

The speculation linking Rodgers to Liverpool ties in with the news that Gylfi Sigurdsson is getting closer and closer to signing a deal to join the Swans on a permanent basis. He most certainly will not put pen to paper in South Wales if Rodgers does decide to move on.
