Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers insists he won’t moan about having a lack of big money to spend on players this Summer.

Of course, Rodgers will look to strengthen his squad for next season, and he’ll need quality like loanees Gylfi Sigurdsson and Steven Caulker if they are to continue their Premier League success.

Sigurdsson’s price is going up and up with every goal he scores, while Caulker could stay on loan next year.

Rodgers cooled talk of him possibly taking over at Spurs, and talked about the next 7 games and possible spending money for the Summer. He talked to TalkSport:

“Harry Redknapp`s done a brilliant job at Tottenham,”

“Tottenham’s a terrific job but my concentration and effort is with Swansea and making sure we finish off a brilliant season so far.

“I`m just working on the last seven games of the season.”

Rodgers said that he’ll be able to make three of four signings in the Summer, and made it clear that they won’t be able to compete with the bigger teams in the division, he added:

“We`ll be able to bring in three or four but we`ll never be able to compete with the teams we play against,”

“The philosophy of the club is different here. Swansea went through a really barren spell about eight years ago when the club nearly went out of business.

“They will never overspend now and I respect that. It`s a brilliant club and they operate with a lot of common sense.

“There`s no doubt that at this level you have to invest. But I`m not going to be moaning and groaning about big money when there`s not big money here.”
