Brendan Rodgers says he is excited about tomorrow’s big South Wales derby match at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swansea City manager will take charge of his first derby game at home to Cardiff City and he and his team will be targeting a first ever double-win in the fixture.

Rodgers knows what it’s like to beat Cardiff City, having watched his side beat the Bluebirds at their Stadium earlier in the season thanks to a goal from former loanee striker Marvin Emnes.

The Swans dominated that day and Rodgers says he’s looking for a similar performance tomorrow:

‘Their squad is as strong as it gets in this division, particularly when you look at the players they have at the top end of the field.

It`s a difficult task to contain them but we were outstanding at their place earlier in the season and we`re looking for a similar performance on Sunday.

‘I respect them – they have a terrific manager and some terrific players and we know there`s a threat there. But if we play with the aggression and the charisma we showed at Bristol City (where the Swans won 2-0 in midweek) we have a good chance.’

‘They all tell me about the atmosphere at the Liberty with the acoustics we have got and I`m really excited about what is a very big game.’
