His Time At Swansea

Richard Appleby was born in Middlesboro on 18th September 1975. His career started with Newcastle United in 1994. He then went to Darlington on loan for a season, then to Ipswich Town. He then signed for the Swans in 1996 under the management of Jan Molby.

He stayed with the Swans for 5 seasons amassing 139 league appearances and scoring 14 goals. He was involved in a controversial incident for kicking a linesman with a ball in the FAW cup. Duly he was transfer listed; this came after a period of poor form. What I remember of him he had so much potential at the club but failed to deliver and his temperament got the better of him. He was one of my grandfathers favorite players.

Richard left the swans in 2001.

Where Is He Now?

Richard then joined Kidderminster Harriers and then joined Hull City for two seasons before re-signing for Kidderminster.

Richard now joins former Swan James Thomas at Llanelli but not before having a spell at Forest Green Rovers.
