The Evening Post today report that SPL side Rangers could step up their bid to sign young defender Jazz Richards.

According to the local newspaper, the Scottish Premier League Champions are in debt and are now relying on investing less money in promising youngsters like Jazz Richards to build a squad for the near future.

Richards’ contract expires in the Summer and Rangers could spend as little as £100,000 compensation on landing the defender.

Jazz has plenty of potential and while he doesn’t look like getting a regular first team place soon, he’s looked comfortable whenever he has played this year.
