Angel Rangel says he is not thinking about leaving the club, and is totally focused about helping the Swans in the Championship next season.

In an earlier interview with the right back, he told the local press that he was disappointed that former boss Roberto Martinez hadn’t enquired about signing him at Wigan Athletic.

Despite his impressive and consistent performances last year, Rangel has never been at the forefront of the Pre-Season rumours which has surprised a lot of the fans. Ferrie Bodde has caught the interest of Bolton Wanderers while a number of clubs were keen on Jason Scotland before he left to join Wigan.

There were rumours early on this Summer that Manchester City and Celtic were targeting the Spaniard but luckily for us, they didn’t come to life during the transfer window.

Angel Rangel told the Evening Post:

‘I am not thinking about leaving,’

‘For about nine months there have been too many rumours, but they are only rumours and I am fully focused on Swansea.

‘We have quality in this squad and I believe we can achieve at least what we did last year again.

‘If something happens in the future, we will speak about it then.

‘I have a contract here, I have my team-mates and I have my girlfriend here.

‘Everything is going well and, hopefully, we will have some exciting times under the new manager.’
