Angel Rangel is hoping to be fit for Saturday’s big game away at Sheffield United

Angel Rangel is hoping to be fit for Saturday’s big game away at Sheffield United after suffering a groin injury last week at Bristol City.

The Spanish full back received good news following a scan – which gave him the all-clear and allowed him to start training.

Rangel told the official Site that he’s hoping he finishes training this week without a problem to be in contention to start at Bramall Lane:

‘I thought my season was over at Bristol,”

‘I felt a sharp pain in my groin and I thought that was me off back home on a plane to Spain.

‘I was devastated.”

‘If everything is okay after training tomorrow, I’d like to think the gaffer (Paulo Sousa) will consider me for the game at Sheffield,”

‘It’s a massive game and I’d love to play a part. It’s the biggest game of the season.”

Striker Craig Beattie also returns to full training following a hip muscle injury. Jordi Lopez, Ferrie Bodde and Alan Tate remain on the sidelines.
