Swansea City head to Carrow Road on Saturday looking to build on last weekend’s impressive 4-0 win against Preston North End.
Brendan Rodgers intends to go with a similar attacking approach when they face Norwich City tomorrow and it’ll be interesting to see how and if our new offensive style works as well away as it does at home.
Preston didn’t have an answer for our free-flowing, all out attacking play last Saturday as the likes of Nathan Dyer, David Cotterill and new signing Scott Sinclair caused problems throughout the game with their pace and skill. Can we do the same on our travels?
.’They definitely play football the right way and this is a really tough game there’s no doubt about it. They will pass it around, so we have to be ready for it and also implement our own game.
‘I never really worry about the opposition, I know they had a really good result last week but as I’ve said before we are in this league for a reason and all our hard work last year has earned us the right to play them.’
‘The intention is to play the same way against Norwich.
‘We certainly don’t enter into games feeling we have to pull the reins back or sit back.
‘The players have a wonderful ability to keep possession, and I feel very confident going into any arena in this league with this group.
‘Of course, when you go away from home you will be on the back foot at some stage and we have to make sure we build our blocks correctly.
‘But we have got great confidence that we can go to Norwich and play as we normally do ? there are no worries about that.
‘The way we play is not a gamble, it’s just how I like my teams to play. We will go there with the same attitude and ambition as last week, looking to score goals and looking to win.’
Norwich City Team News:
Norwich City boss Paul Lambert is likely to name an unchanged side from the one that beat Scunthorpe United 1-0 last weekend as he has no new injury concerns.
Steven Smith and Zak Whitbread are both unavailable due to injury, while new signing Simeon Jackson will have to settle for a place on the bench.
Player to watch: Grant Holt
The striker, and a former Swansea City target when Kenny Jackett was boss, scored 25 goals last season to help the Canaries win promotion to the Championship and he’ll be a test for centre backs Ashley Williams and Garry Monk. He scored the only goal for Norwich in their 1-0 win last weekend at Scunthorpe United.
Swansea City Team News:
Brendan Rodgers can also name an unchanged side as he expects Nathan Dyer to be fit and available despite picking up a slight knock during Saturday’s 4-0 win at home to Preston.
Forward duo Gorka Pintado and Craig Beattie are out injured, so too are midfielders Tom Butler and Ferrie Bodde.
Player to watch: Stephen Dobbie
You could pick from a number of players to ‘watch’ after last week’s impressive performance at the Liberty Stadium, but this game won’t be as open as that one, and I’m sure we’ll have far less freedom going forward. Sinclair and Dyer will cause problems on the flanks and hopefully Cotterill can play that attacking central midfield role as well tomorrow as he did vs Preston. Dobbie scored a superb opener and hopefully he can add to his tally again on Saturday.

Swansea City did the double over the Canaries two seasons ago, beating them 3-2 at Carrow Road before winning 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.
Norwich City haven’t beaten the Swans at home since 1998 in the Cup. In the League, their last win against us was back in 1983 in Division 1.
After last week’s performance, I can’t be negative this week. I really hope Rodgers’ attacking style can work wonders away just like it did at home. The defence looked vulnerable at times so there’s extra pressure on our attackers to finish off chances, but that won’t be problem if we show the same quality. NORWICH CITY 1-2 SWANSEA CITY
