Darren Pratley has given Swansea City a huge boost by declaring himself fit for Saturday’s tough trip to Nottingham Forest.

Paulo Sousa’s problems have eased for Saturday as one of our best midfielders will be available to play.

The Swansea boss has been looking at the loan market recently for cover after Ferrie Bodde and Darren Pratley picked up injuries in last Saturday’s home game against Peterborough United. But with Pratley’s injury nowhere near as bad as first feared, we can now manage without any new signings.

Joe Allen and Andrea Orlandi are still sidelined but could return within the next few weeks, while Jordi Lopez could miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Pratley told the Official Site:

‘The knee is ok,’

‘I took a knock and came off against Peterborough because I didn’t want to risk anything.

‘I went for a scan and they found a little bit of blood on the knee, but that has gone down now.’

The former Fulham player also said that the Swans will be looking for revenge at the City Ground after losing to Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium earlier in the season.

‘They are a good side with a good squad and know how to win games,’

‘But coming up from League One with them and now challenging for promotion with them we know what Forest are about.

‘We’ll be going there trying to win like we do in every other game, and we owe them for the defeat at our place in December.’
