Huw Jenkins has released a statement about Darren Pratley on the Official Site, and says that Pratley doesn’t want to continue contract talks with Swansea City according to his agent.

The Swansea City chairman also confirmed that Nottingham Forest have made a written offer for Pratley, but is nowhere near the reported £1.5m bid that’s been mentioned in the media.

The statement reads:

From Swansea City’s point of view, taking into account the value and type of offer on the table from Forest, plus what’s on offer to us as a football club over the next six months to achieve a top six finish, the club may feel it is in our best interests to keep Darren on board and allow him to see out his contract.

It was thought this week that Pratley was going to commit his future to the club, after taking off his shirt during Tuesday’s game and raising it to show the fans at the Liberty Stadium. A message that he was here to stay we thought, but Pratley is another player, like Leon Britton who left for Sheffield United for free this Summer, who has cancelled contract talks to ‘concentrate on his football.’
