I recently received an email from Helen Veale, a writer who’s been commissioned to write a play along with her writing partner, Peter Read about football obsession, concentrating on the 1980-1981 when John Toshack lead the Swans to promotion to the top flight.

If you have any stories, anecdotes and any memories from that time then please help out these two writers by meeting up with them and other fans at the Dylan Thomas Centre on October 12th and 13th between 12pm and 2pm and October 14th between 6pm and 8pm.

Helen Veale said in her email: ‘We want to collate these stories and publish them in a book, which will be exclusively for and about the fans.

There will be an article coming out soon in the Evening Post about the project and Pete and I will be on the Kevin Johns radio show on the wave next Friday morning.’

The play will be at the Grand Theatre Arts wing some time next year, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the div one promotion.

If you are unable to meet up at these times, then you can email your stories and memories at this address: helenclaire99@hotmail.com
