Swansea City striker Gorka Pintado says he is looking to prove how good he really is this season.

The frontman hasn’t had the opportunity to do that since signing last year after on-going injury problems that have only recently been cured.

The former Granada CF striker has already netted 3 goals this pre-season in under 90 minutes of game time, 1 in a training game in Portugal against Trofense and two in a substitutes appearance in the 3-1 home victory against FC Twente.

The 31 year-old can’t wait to get going next season and he told Wales Online:

“I think the fans will get to see what I can really do this season,”

“I want to fulfill my potential and I`m working really hard towards that.

“I`ve always felt I can play well in British football because it suits my style of play. I want to prove that this year.

“I don`t feel any extra pressure now Jason has gone. I had the same pressure when he was here, but now I have to work hard every day to score more goals.

“I don`t know if I will be the main man up front now. I would like to be, but you never know what will happen in football.

“All I know is that I feel great at the moment. I`m training hard and I`m looking forward to making a big start to the season.”
