Striker Gorka Pintado says he’s aiming to score 10 goals by the end of the season.

The £100,000 Summer signing from Grenada CF has made just 9 starts in all competitions this year because of on-going hernia problems.

Despite playing through the pain barrier this year, the Spaniard has still managed to score 7 goals, and he wants to reach double figures by the end of the season.

Pintado has struck twice in the League since his recent return from a hernia operation, he told the Evening Post:

‘I have had a lot of problems with injuries since the start of the season.’

‘But I would like to score 10 goals or more.

‘If I can get up to 10, I will be happy with that considering the problems I’ve had.’

‘When I came on against Crystal Palace, I felt 100 per cent – I feel like I am moving forward.

‘I didn’t think about my injury at all on Saturday which is nice.

‘The goal was not so good because we didn’t win, but I don’t feel any pain so I am happy about that.

‘I am looking forward to the rest of the season.’

‘The Bull’ as he is nicknamed has been in good form since returning to action last month and hopefully he’ll get the opportunity to reach his goals target this season.

He’s likely to be on the bench again tonight as we face QPR at Loftus Road, but I’m sure he’ll come on towards the end, especially if we’re chasing a goal.
