Crystal Palace striker Alan Lee has today emerged as a new target for Swansea City.

Paulo Sousa is keen to strengthen his squad with a forward and Lee is the latest name to be linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium.

Palace boss Neil Warnock said:

“Alan`s on the transfer list and I`ll listen to offers.’

Alan Lee is the only fit striker Warnock has available at present and with a transfer enbargo lifted onto the club, which prevents them from buying new players, he may want to hang onto the frontman for the time being.

The 30 year-old started his career as an Aston Villa trainee before having loan spells with Port Vale and Torquay United.

He joined Burnley for £200,000 in 1999 where he made just two League starts. He was loaned out to Rotherham 2000 and that move was made permanent in a £150,000 sale. He netted 35 goals in 95 League starts which attracted our rivals Cardiff City to paying £850,000 for his services in 2003. Three years later he made a switch to Ipswich where he averaged a goal every 3 games, scoring 31 in 91 games.

He had a 3 month loan spell with Norwich City last season in the Championship and scored 2 goals in 6 League starts.

Lee scored in last Saturday’s draw against Plymouth.
