Andrea Orlandi says derby games against Cardiff City are different from others, and you have to play with emotion to do well.

The Swans have a good record in the South Wales derby, only losing 1 of the last 4, winning 1 and drawing the other 2.

Andrea Orlandi, who scored in last season’s 2-1 defeat at the Cardiff City Stadium, says the derby isn’t just a normal game and playing with emotions and feelings is important.

‘These games are different,’

‘You are playing with tension, you are playing with feelings.

‘The games are always tight and it’s not a normal game to play in.

‘You have to play with emotions ? you know you are playing for the fans even more than usual because you know they really want to win.

‘As players you have to know how to play in these games, and I think we are ready to do that.’

After a difficult start on our travels this season, where we lost 4 games consecutively, we’ve now experienced a big improvement away from home, winning the last 3 on our travels and keeping clean sheets in the last 5.

Orlandi added:

‘We have been lucky in these games because we have only lost one,’ Orlandi adds.

‘So why not? Why can we not get another good result this weekend?

‘As a team we are in good shape.

‘In the last few games we have had more or less the same players starting with some great players also on the bench.

‘We are unbeaten in six league games and we have played well against some very good teams, so we are full of confidence.’
