Andrea Orlandi says he wants to sign a new contract at Swansea City, but is considering offers from other clubs.

The Spanish midfielder has been stalling for 3 months on a new deal at the Liberty Stadium and there have been strong suggestions recently that he could follow Paulo Sousa to Leicester City.

The 25 year-old is still in Swansea but is training on his own as he is currently a free agent.

Orlandi says it’s now down to the new manager, Brendan Rodgers to decide if he wants him in his squad for next season:

‘I have been told that the chairman wants the new manager to decide whether he sees me in his plans for the new season.

‘Obviously it is quite unsettling for a player when he doesn’t know where his future lies because you don’t have any peace of mind.

‘I have heard of interest from other clubs, but I am happy at Swansea and I want to sign here.

‘Swansea is my first choice, but I can’t wait around for ever, so hopefully something will be done soon.’

‘It’s not a good situation because the club have already started pre-season training and played a few games without me,’ added Orlandi.

‘But I hope to be a part of the pre-season plans soon and then go on to play a big part over the season.’

The comment ‘I can’t wait around forever’ is the pot calling the kettle black surely? We’ve been waiting 3 months for him to decide on a new contract which has been on offer to him. Surely it’s us who can’t wait around ‘forever’.
