Left winger Andrea Orlandi says he’s playing for his future now as he’s out of contract at the end of the season.

The Spaniard has made just 4 appearances in the League this season and only now has he managed to have a run in the first team.

Manager Roberto Martinez has opted for Mark Gower and Tom Butler to share the left midfield duties while Orlandi has been a spectator for most of the year.

He’s featured in the Carling Cup but it’s always difficult to show your true worth when you’re playing in a few cup games every other month.

Orlandi told Wales Online:

“I don`t know if the gaffer wants me to stay,”

“I just have to show him what I can do and try to earn a new contract.

“I haven`t spoken with him about it and I`m not thinking about it. I just want to play in the last two games and we will see what happens in the summer.

“I have only started four games in the league. That isn`t very many and it`s hard.

“But I have had this chance to show who I am. Hopefully now Roberto and the chairman will think about me for next season.

“We will talk about it when the season is over. The gaffer told me to be calm, not to think about it and just focus on the games.”

“I am very happy with my performances. It`s good to take the chance the gaffer has given me and I always try 100 per cent for this club.

“Getting games is all that matters to me. And, while it`s a bit late now, I will give everything for this team.

“You always feel better when you end the season well. And, if I can help the club get to the playoffs, I will have a happy holiday no matter what.”
