Swansea City left winger Andrea Orlandi says he is happy and excited to see his brother-in-law join him at Swansea City.
Jordi Gomez joined on loan in the Summer for £200,000 from Espanyol.
Orlandi, who helped the Western Mail as a translator for Gomez’s first interview, said:
|‘It’s great having Jordi here,’ |
‘Not just because of our friendship off the pitch, but because I know how good he is on it.
‘I told him last season that he should try to come to the UK. But we never thought Swansea would be the club for him.
‘I didn’t tell Roberto directly, but I mentioned to Iniaki Bergara (Swansea’s goalkeeping coach) that there was a very good player at Espanyol that the club should look at.
‘I’m really happy with how it ended up and we are both looking forward to enjoying ourselves this season.’
Orlandi will be looking to have a bigger part to play this season after making just 1 League start last year. A long spell on the sidelines prevented him from making more of an impact on our Championship winning success.
Gomez, like Pintado, is another exciting Spanish signing as Martinez paid £200,000 for just a single one-season loan.
