Swansea City made it two wins out of two with a narrow 1-0 home win against Preston North End this afternoon as Jay Fulton’s headed goal from Asoro’s cross was enough to get another three points.

2 days after a disastrous deadline day that saw us sell two centre-backs, we kept a clean sheet as 20-year-old defender Joe Rodon made his debut alongside skipper Mike van der Hoorn.

It was a promising first-half performance and we could have been 2-0 up had Oli McBurnie put his penalty away early on, but his low shot that lacked real power was palmed away.

The Swans had to really dig in in the second half as Preston had 68% possession and applied a lot of pressure as they looked for an equaliser. 10 of their 12 shots came after the break, 5 of them on target.

Potter’s side had chances themselves with 7 shots on target and it was Oli McBurnie who probably had our best chance but he couldn’t keep his effort on target.
