Kristian O’Leary was in action for League One side Charlton Athletic yesterday in a pre-season friendly match against Wexford Youths FC.
The midfielder is currently on trial with the Addicks and he looks set to end his 13-year spell at Swansea City.
|“Good luck to him, hope he gets offered a contract.”|
O’Leary was back in defence for this match and played for 76 minutes before being replaced by Miguel Llera.
O’Leary has struggled to feature in the team over the last few seasons but his best spell for the club was when Kenny Jackett was manager. The current Millwall boss converted him into a defensive midfielder and his performances in his new position saw him win the Fans Player of the Year award in the 2004/05 season, when we won promotion to League One.

O’Leary was offered a new 1 year deal this Summer when Martinez was boss but it’ll be a shame to see him sitting on a bench for the remainder of his career if he stayed with the Swans. A move to a club like Charlton Athletic would be a superb move for him and we wish him all the best in his attempts at earning a contract at The Valley.
