Loyalty to football clubs has seen a rapid decline in recent seasons especially with significant amounts of money changing hands. One Swansea player Kristian O’Leary has bucked that trend and stayed loyal to his hometown club.

The midfielder turned down a lucrative contract offer from league one rivals Cheltenham Town after a successful loan spell.

O’Leary’s decision was greeted with much surprise and delight by many of the Swansea fatihful. He has seen his first team opportunities limited this season with only 6 first team starts and 5 substitute league appearances.

The club’s cup runs have given the player an opportunity to stake his claim for a first team place.

This task has become more difficult with the South Wales outfit sitting top of league one.

Ryman Premier division side Horsham Town secured a shock replay at The Liberty Stadium courtesy of Lewis Taylor’s 85th minute penalty strike.

The Stalwart knows getting past Horsham is going to be difficult.

He told :
The Western Mail

‘It`s a tough ask to get through the next two games but we know there`s a major achievement at the end of it.’

We`ve reached the third round a couple of times since I`ve been here and we`ve had some half-decent results over the years, like last year.’

But before that there was a while where we just never got to the third round.’

So it would be nice to be able to progress and change our fortunes a bit; but we have to look at Horsham first and foremost.’W

It would be silly to look any further ahead, and it`s only when we get past this replay we can really start talking about the third round.

And nothing`s taken for granted. You only have to look at some of Man Utd`s results in recent years when they`ve drawn 0-0 with Burton and Exeter to see that anything can happen.”

The prize that awaits the winner of tomorrow evenings replay is a 3rd round home tie against Blue Square South side Havant & Waterlooville.

Winners of 3rd round ties will also win £40,000 from the FA Cup prize fund.
