Swansea City have also been linked with 18 year-old West Ham United striker Frank Nouble, who has also worked with Brendan Rodgers at Chelsea.

The Swansea City manager is confident that he’ll add new faces to his squad before the transfer window ends at the end of August, a his top priority is a striker as both Gorka Pintado and Craig Beattie are injured.

Leroy Lita has also been linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium, with reports suggesting that Swansea City are lining up a 6-month loan bid for the Middlesbrough forward.

Wages could be a problem though, as well as the fact that Middlesbrough might not want to loan him out – especially to one of their fellow Championship rivals.

Nouble appears to be a more realistic and likely target. He worked with Rodgers at Chelsea before joining West Ham United in 2009 for an undisclosed fee. He has made 10 first team appearances for the Hammers, and also had loan spells with West Bromwich Albion and Swindon Town last season, but didn’t score at either club.

Rodgers said:

‘We have a list of names and there will certainly be one or two arrivals before the window closes,’ Rodgers said over the weekend.

‘We want someone with mobility, quality, hunger and ambition.’
