Norwich City boss Paul Lambert says his side fully deserved the 3-1 win against Swansea City after they ‘controlled the game’.

The Canaries were very quick out of the blocks, even though it was the Swans who kicked off, the home side took less than a minute to open the scoring thanks to poor defending from Rodgers’ side. Another goal quickly followed before Danny Graham reduced the deficit moments later.

Lambert talked about his team scoring early:

‘It’s obviously nice but sometimes it can affect you scoring that early,’

‘But we got the second goal and I thought we were playing really well.

‘Then Swansea scored and had a bit of possession which they’re entitled to do because they’re a very good side and Brendan [Rodgers] has got them playing ever so well.

‘But I thought after that we were excellent, especially in the second half, I thought we controlled the game and deserved to win.’

‘It’s okay playing open, great football for the public who come to watch but also realise I’ve got to win.

‘I hear the cliché that they’re a great footballing side but I thought we were great and I’m very proud of the team.

‘I’m over the moon with what they’ve done, not just this year but the last two years, they’ve been a credit to themselves and the fans have bought into it which is great.

‘We showed at Old Trafford we can give teams a scare.’
